General weather alert:
Over the next five days, light to moderate rainfall is expected in East Rajasthan, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh, as well as thunderstorms and lightning. The IMD has projected severe to extremely heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning in Himachal Pradesh on Monday and Tuesday.
Rainfall is forecast for various districts in India, including Hamirpur (Sujanpur Tihra, Hamirpur), Bilaspur (Swarghat, Bilaspur), Chamba, Solan, Shimla, Sirmaur, Kullu, Mandi (Sarkaghat, Dharampur, Slapper, Kotli, Mandi, Sundernagar), and Kangra (Dharamsala, Jaisinghpur).
Severe Weather Warning:
- Heavy to very heavy rainfall with extremely heavy precipitation is expected in isolated areas over Uttarakhand, West Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat State.
- Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected across isolated areas of Himachal Pradesh, West Uttar Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Konkan, Goa, and Madhya Maharashtra.
- Heavy rains are forecast for Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Kerala, and Mahe.
- Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Konkan, Goa, Vidharbha, Chhattisgarh, and Coastal Karnataka are all expected to get widespread rain and thunderstorms.
- Arunachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, West Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, North Interior Karnataka, Kerala, and Mahe are all expected to get heavy rain and thunderstorms.
- Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected in Bihar, East Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, West Rajasthan, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Telangana, South Interior Karnataka, and Lakshadweep.
- Isolated showers and thunderstorms are expected over Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal.

Maharashtra

- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted heavy to very heavy rainfall in Mumbai over the next four to five days. The city is currently experiencing heavy rains, and an ‘orange’ signal has been issued for the Konkan region.
- Over the last 24 hours, the financial capital has gotten 93 mm of rainfall. The city received 100 mm of rain daily for three days in a row. The weather service has issued a ‘yellow’ alert for Mumbai for the next three days, with heavy rains expected in some parts.
- Several low-lying areas are experiencing serious waterlogging. The Andheri Subway has been restricted and the Dadar, Lower Parel, and Kurla neighbourhoods are inundated as a result of the ongoing downpour.
- On Sunday, up to 36 flights were cancelled at Mumbai Airport, while 15 planes, including those operated by Air India, IndiGo, and Akasa, were diverted to adjacent airports, primarily Ahmedabad, due to sporadic heavy rain until 4 p.m.
- Heavy rains forced the facility operator to suspend runway operations twice during the day on Sunday, once for eight minutes at 12.12 p.m. and again from 1.00 to 1.15 p.m.
- Waterlogging between Mankhurd, Panvel, and Kurla stations caused 15 to 20-minute delays for local train services on the Harbour Line, but the Western Railway section ran well.
- On Monday morning, Western Railway reported that local train services were operating normally. However, commuters reported that trains were 5 to 10 minutes behind time.
- Similarly, Central Railway reported that local services on all four corridors were running smoothly. Nonetheless, travelers stated that train movement between Kalyan and Thakurli stations was disrupted during the morning rush hour due to a signal problem.
- NDRF teams have been deployed at Vasai (Palghar), Thane, Ghatkopar, Powai (Kurla), Mahad (Raigad), Khed and Chiplun (Ratnagiri), Kudal (Sindhudurg), Kolhapur, Sangli, and Satara as precautions during the monsoon season.
- There was a landslide in Mahabaleshwar in the morning of July 22; however, the local administration cleared some portions of the affected road allowing some vehicles to pass.
Sikkim
- On 21 July, a landslide occurred at Munsithang, North Sikkim, on the road to Lachen. The District Magistrate of Kalimpong presented an update on the ongoing efforts to restore connectivity on National Highway 10.
- According to the Public Works Department (PWD), significant progress has been made, and completion is expected within a week.
Karnataka
- Low-lying areas downstream of Karnataka’s Krishnaraja Sagar (KRS) dam were issued a flood alert on Sunday after the dam received a water influx of more than 69,000 cusecs.
- The warning for areas along the Cauvery river bank in Mysuru and Chamarajanagar districts followed a decision to release approximately 50,000 cusecs of water from the dam.
- Heavy inflows to dams such as Almatti, Tungabhadra, and Narayanapura in the Krishna river basin continue, raising concerns of flooding in low-lying communities around the Krishna and Tungabhadra rivers.
Telangana and Andhra Pradesh

- The torrential rains have overflowed rivers and streams, causing widespread disruptions and posing significant issues for inhabitants. The rising water levels in the Godavari River have particularly alarmed authorities, causing the first flood alert in Bhadrachalam
- Heavy rainfall is forecast in Adilabad, Komaram Bheem, Asifabad, Mancherial, Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri, Khammam, Nalgonda, and Suryapet districts, which have been placed on yellow alert.
