General weather alert:
- On July 31, 2024, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for parts of Karnataka
- Orange alert in parts of Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Goa, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra
- Yellow alert in Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, Assam, Meghalaya, Rajasthan and Gujarat.
Travel and Supply Chain Impact:
Kerala:
- INCOIS issued a high wave alert for Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Kannur, Kollam, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Thiruvananthapuram, and Thrissur for Wednesday.
- Tourism centers in Idukki, Ernakulam, Pathanamthitta, and Thrissur have been closed.
- Quarrying and mining activities have been banned until further notice.
- District administrations declared holidays for all educational institutions in Wayanad, Kasaragod, Malappuram, Kannur, Kottayam, Kozhikode, Palakkad, Thrissur, Ernakulam, Idukki, Pathanamthitta, and Alappuzha due to heavy rainfall on Tuesday.
- The Kerala Media Academy cancelled exams for the Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism and Communication, and Public Relations and Advertising, originally scheduled for July 31.
- Rescheduled exam dates for the Kerala Media Academy are from August 5 to August 15.
- The following train services are rescheduled due to the late arrival of pairing trains:
- Train No. 22640 Alappuzha – MGR Chennai Central Express, scheduled to depart from Alappuzha at 15:20 hrs. on 30th July 2024 will depart at 18:00 hrs.
- Train No. 20632 Thiruvananthapuram Central – Mangalore Central Vande Bharat Express, scheduled to depart from Thiruvananthapuram Central at 16:05 hrs. on 30th July 2024, will now depart at 18:00 hrs.
- Train No. 20633 Kasaragod – Thiruvananthapuram Central Vande Bharat Express, originally scheduled to depart from Kasaragod at 14:30 hrs on July 30, 2024, will now depart at 16:30 hrs.
- Traffic is banned on the Gap Road stretch of the Kochi-Dhanushkodi national highway in Munnar.
- The Munnar-Pallivasal road is affected by mud slips as well.
- The road from Gundlupet to Wayanad, Bathery has been closed.
- Mananthavady-Mysore Road is also Closed due to landslides.
- NH 66 is facing Traffic disruptions due to waterlogging in parts of Kochi.
- MG Road and Banerji Road are Experiencing severe waterlogging, affecting local commute.
- Parts of NH 544 are waterlogged, especially around the Thrissur city limits.
- Thrissur-Palakkad Road is facing disruptions due to flooding and temporary closures.
Maharashtra:

- The road leading to Sinhagad Fort is closed.
- The Kolhapur-Ratnagiri Highway is closed due to 1.5 to 2 feet of floodwater as of Tuesday.
- The flood situation in Kurundwad and surrounding areas remains unchanged, although recent rains have provided some relief.
- Major roads, including Kurundwad and Nrisimhwadi, remain submerged.
Karnataka:

- A landslide occurred at Charmadi Ghat due to heavy rains, disrupting road traffic.
- National Highway 66 between Kumta and Karwar remains closed.
- The main road connecting Bangalore and Mangalore on National Highway 75 is blocked by a landslide at Shiradi Ghat.
- Traffic is halted at Belthangadi and Kottigehar until further notice.
Himanchal Pradesh:
- The Manali-Leh road is closed for traffic.
- Traffic was halted completely due to the collapse of 100 meters of road in Sanglehad village on the Kunnu-Garlog road on Tuesday.
Uttarakhand:

- In Uttarakhand, heavy rain blocked the Badrinath Highway for 12 hours, stranding over 2,000 passengers.
- Debris fell on the highway in Langasu and Gulabkoti early Tuesday morning.
- The road was cleared in Langasu by 9:30 AM, but the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) took 12 hours to restore vehicular movement in Gulabkoti.
- Continuous heavy rain is causing ongoing blockages on Char Dham Yatra routes.
- Significant delays and inconvenience are being reported due to the road conditions.
- Following the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) forecast for heavy rains in Haldwani district, all schools and educational institutions in the district have been ordered to remain closed on July 31.
Sikkim:
